Welcome to RunnerMom! Thanks for visiting RunnerMom!
Your practical website for running and/or walking for the busy gal.
We are regular gals. Both of us are Moms with kids who keep us pretty busy. We've chosen to use running and walking
as a way of exercising in our lives. We have lots of years of experience that we'd like to share with you. Our book,
RunnerMom, is available to help YOU add running and/ or walking to your life. You can make it happen.
Boston Marathon 2010, Here I Come! I am so excited, and honored, to have a spot on the Boston Children's Hospital Marathon Team!!! I am running in honor of a good friend of mine, Dr. Tucker Collins, who was head of their
Pathology Department. Tucker died suddenly in June 2007. He was devoted to his work at Children's and I will try and raise
as much money as possible in his memory! This will be my third Boston
Marathon, and sixth marathon overall. I'm psycho to do it again, knowing the course and how miserable it was the last time.
Perhaps the third time is the charm!! If you would like to help me out,
please visit my Children's Hospital Marathon page here. Any donation, no matter how much it is, is greatly and truly appreciated. The
RunnerMom blog will follow my training for the race, check it out. Thanks so much for your support!!!!
RunnerMom and MomLogic!
I had the pleasure of speaking with Vivian Manning-Schaffel, to do a series of four articles for www.momlogic.com about running. You can check all the articles today on MomLogic.com - a really fun site if you haven't seen it already. Or, you can access the articles here. Would
love to see your comments!! Thanks!

October Tip: The humidity is pretty much gone, thank goodness. What a difference it makes. For
October, I want you to make sure you are in the right running shoe. There is nothing more important that getting the right
shoe - it will minimize your potential for injury and make your feet happy! If
you are lucky enough to be in the Raleigh area, try these stores for getting the right fit: - TrySports at Crabtree Valley mall
- Fleet Feet at Ridgewood Shopping
Center
Plan on spending about an hour to get a good fit. It's worth the time and effort. Remember, you are
not brand shopping when it comes to running shoes. It's all about your feet and the fit. If you don't live in Raleigh,
find a running store and ask the person helping you about their running experience, their return policy.
Don't forget to pick up a good running bra while you're at it. You should look for one that offers maximum support
so the girls aren't flying around while you run. It will make you more comfortable, trust me. Don't be shy about using chaffing
stick around the band of the bra to avoid sore spots!

FUN Running/Walking Item to Check out: The Running Skirt. OK, I admit I was skeptical. But, this thing is so stinkin' comfortable!I found mine at Try Sports in Raleigh, but you can check with the on-line store for other locations. I like the Skirts Sports brand myself.

Great
Store in Raleigh (and Charlotte & Wilmington): Try Sports
I had so much
fun at Try Sports in Raleigh! What a great store. Not only do they carry terrific running gear for us regular gals, but they
have this really cool program to help figure out what type of running shoe you should be in. And that is THE most important
thing to your success as a runner or walker - the right shoes. It will take about 20-30 minutes - but time well spent with
these folks. Check 'em out! And, by the way, it's really wonderful being in a running store and not feeling intimidated or
like if you're not a pro they don't care about you.Love that. Try Sports is at the Crabtree Valley
Mall in Raleigh. Also on the web at www.trysports.com

Support my running the 2010 Boston Marathon for Boston Children's Hospital Here!! Thank You!!
Find a Race Here! Signing up for a race, whether
it's a 5K or half marathon is a great way to get started. There are plenty of sites that list all races in the country and
you can search by location, race type and month. My favorite is coolrunning.com and active.com. Sign up today!!! Find your Race Training Guide Here. Once you've signed up for your race, you will need
a training guide to keep you on track and heading toward your goal. There are many sites on line that offer downloadable
free training guides. Here are two of my favorites: Hal Higdon (I use his novice guide, even after running 5 marathons!) Jeff Galloway

I've been a scraobooker for many years. Addicted, I should say. Recently, I moved over
to digital scrapping. Easy, fun and cool. Two Peas is probably the best scrap site on the web. You won't believe how big their
gallery is - OMG!
